Visit from USPCA
To conclude their WAU topic on ‘Birds’ Primary Three/Four were delighted to have a visit from Michelle and Colleen from the USPCA in Newry.
They told us all about the history of the USPCA and the important work they do. We learned how to look after and care for pets and animals in our local community.
During the talk pupils listened to ways in which we can ensure our local birds are cared for and protected. P3/4 also learned that ‘birds’ are wildlife and that no one owns wildlife. They belong in their natural environment.
Everyone had great fun and enjoyed learning about how we should feed our birds and how to do this in school and at home.
We would like to thank Michelle and Colleen for providing us with a new bird feeder and bird food. Primary 3/4 are continuing to birdwatch and are excited to identify all the different birds that come to our school!
