Dairy Council Visit
Primary 4/5 and Primary 6 pupils enjoyed a fantastic visit from the Dairy Council on Thursday as part of a fun and engaging session on food and fitness at St John’s. The children worked together brilliantly and gained a deeper understanding of the importance of balance between food and physical activity.
Throughout the day, pupils explored the main food groups and learned how to make healthier choices. A highlight for many was learning a catchy rap to help remember key messages, followed by an energetic workout session that got everyone moving.
After a healthy break, the children investigated food diaries and took part in practical activities, sorting a variety of foods into the correct food groups. They also discussed simple and realistic ways to improve their diets and increase their daily exercise, working towards the recommended 60 minutes of physical activity each day.
A big thank you to Melissa and Luke from the Dairy Council for delivering such an enjoyable and informative session.
