P3/4 Shared Education Visit
11th Mar 2026
Primary 3/4 enjoyed a visit to Seagoe PS today as part of our Shared Education programme. The children were excited to spend time with their friends and take part in a variety of activities focused on wellbeing and healthy living.
To begin the day, the pupils explored how we all experience different emotions. After listening to the story Everyone Feels Angry by Jane Bingham, they discussed how the characters might be feeling and talked about times when they might feel angry, sad or worried themselves. The children then practised a range of calming breathing techniques, including bubble breaths, balloon breaths and bumble bee breaths. They particularly enjoyed a fun “Freeze and Breathe” challenge, where they stopped during movement to practise slowing their breathing and helping their bodies feel calm again.
Later, the pupils explored what it means to live a healthy lifestyle. Working in mixed-school groups, they rotated around a number of activity stations where they tried simple exercises, matched activities to different feelings, sorted pictures into active and less active choices, and discussed what makes a good bedtime routine.
To finish the day, the children learned about the Eatwell Plate and why a balanced diet is important. Working cooperatively in their groups, they planned a balanced meal and identified the different food groups that help keep our bodies healthy and give us energy.
It was a fantastic day of learning, teamwork and friendship, and the children thoroughly enjoyed spending time with their partners from Seagoe. We are already looking forward to meeting again for our final Shared Education activity in June!
