Walk & Talk: Supporting Health and Wellbeing Together

31st Mar 2026

Despite the weather not getting off to the best start, it certainly didn’t dampen our spirits as we came together for our latest Walk & Talk event. Wrapped up and ready to go, pupils, families and members of the wider community set off from Gilford Leisure Centre, united by a shared commitment to health, wellbeing and mental health awareness.

The walk followed the scenic river walk, providing a relaxed and welcoming space for conversation, connection and reflection. As the walk went on, the atmosphere remained positive and uplifting, with plenty of smiles, chats and encouragement along the way.

Events like these highlight just how powerful it can be to simply walk and talk together. Taking time out, enjoying the outdoors and connecting with others plays an important role in supporting both mental and physical wellbeing.

A huge thank you to everyone who turned out to walk with us and to those who supported us along the way. Your enthusiasm and encouragement helped make the event such a success and truly demonstrated the strength of our community.

We would also like to offer a special thank you to Stacey from Eurospar for kindly providing welcome drinks for everyone on our return to school. Your generosity and continued support are, as always, very much appreciated and helped to end the walk on a high note.

We look forward to welcoming even more people to future Walk & Talk events as we continue to promote the importance of looking after our health and wellbeing—together.
